Procedure Description:
Ulnar Nerve Release

What To Expect:
The goal of surgery is to relieve the compression of the ulnar nerve within the cubital tunnel. Full recovery may take up to 6 months.

Preprocedure:
Nothing by mouth after midnight, the night before the procedure. Check in to Surgical Diagnostic Center 60 minutes prior to surgery time.

Postprocedure:
Surgery is done on an outpatient basis. A local anesthetic is used. The fingers could be numb for up to ten hours following surgery. You will be given a sling to wear to keep your arm elevated. You may take a shower, but avoid soaking your arm in water. You may drive after 1 week. Staples or sutures should be removed in 7-10 days. Additional elbow immobilization may be required up to 3 weeks following surgery.
